Thanks!!
Newbie loving my lessons...
I bought my first guitar at 61 back in April. I bought a Taylor GS mini something that I could start out with, but also something I can be playing a few years from now. Now that my lessons on GT are going so well, I am interested in getting an electric. Any suggestions to what I should begin with? I have a budget of $500 and am not opposed to a used guitar.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Go to more than one music store if can and play lots of electric guitars. Don’t worry about who made them or what style or color they are, just play them. At some point your left hand will feel a neck combination it likes and you will know it feels right, Buy it. Some necks are rounder and some flatter and some wider and some wider at one end than the other. Play them all find the one that feels right.

For $500 you could go with a Fender Standard Strat or Tele (can't go wrong there), or you could check out the Epiphone Les Paul Custom (http://www.amazon.com/Epiphone-Custom-Electric-Guitar-Antique/dp/B0002CZUHY/ref=sr_1_35?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1445829529&sr=1-35&keywords=electric+guitar&refinements=p_36%3A50000-55000)
Or the PRS SE series guitars (a lot of them are in that price range): http://www.amazon.com/Paul-Reed-Smith-Guitars-ST24BK/dp/B00VENIDCO/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1445829589&sr=1-2&keywords=prs+se
