My advice:
Stop worrying how long it is taking you to learn how to play something. It simply takes as long as it takes and some things take a long time to learn and even longer to perfect. You are starting something that will take years not months to get good at.

So build good habits from the start and make chords correctly. Cheating builds bad habits that can take a long time to unlearn. Often longer than it would have taken to learn correctly from the get go.

Be ready for the F chord it will slow you down for weeks. Then one day it will just work and you will wonder why you could not do it yesterday. You had not done it for a long as it took yet yesterday. Its funny how many things work like that learning guitar.

Remember to take pride in the little steps along the way. It probably was not that long ago that making the c chord seems hard. Everything takes time.
