can anybody dissect this part for me?

im having trouble getting this part right. Have anybody got some ideas of what he's doing here. Cant seem to get it! its from 1.58 to 2.10. any help would be appreciated! thanks guys. good day

Finger picking (in a sort of hybrid manner) with thumb on the bass note & other fingers plucking the other strings in a sort of Latin rhythm. Going from a C major diad to D minor. Sounds like the open B string might be used but tightly muted? This is the basic idea.
