Hello, I'm a female age 30 from Va, who knows beginner chords and 2 songs. I was playing electric guitar on and off since I was 16.I have tons of books and dvds but none of them other than "Learn and master guitar, which I'm also using),really hit the spot guitar learning wise. I took lessons for 6 months which where fine and I made it almost through the hal leonard complete method book 1.But even with the classes they had to stick to that 1 one book and only learned some theory, but if I asked the teacher to learn a guitar lick he would say " well just turn to page 180 on the hal leonard book", and I'm like, why cant you just think of a lick"? And I knew that after we finish all 3 books we would have to go onto college level classical book, which seemed interesting but not THAT interesting. A week ago I tried jamplay.com, but I found it only was bits and pieces of what each guitar beginner teachers THOUGHT you should know in order to go to the next level. There was no clear, beginner after I know this I can be considered a beginner etc' section. But gt once I got this changed everything, I'm still on chap. 2 fundamentals 1, but I feel like its so structured and detailed that, once I'm done I will know I'm an intermediate player,no ifs ands or buts and that structure I love. Im so glad I got my money back from jamplay and am making gt home, thanks.

hi tech84lcj.. Welcome to your new guitar home..
Just have fun with your learning, don't make it work.. After you study a lesson go noodle around with any technique.. You'll be surprised what might pop up..

Welcome Tech,

The Core learning System is what attracted me to this site as well. So far it is a lot of fun. Plus, I know once I get all the way through it, I will at least have the basic skills down. Being self taught up to this point I know I have a lot of holes to fill in.

Good Luck and keep on Picking,

TAT

Hey Tech! Great to hear the beginner system is working for you. I take it you're going through the Fundamentals I & II course with Lisa McCormick?
