I live in Nassau County in NY. Cannot find any programs for senior citizens for guitar. If anyone has information on this please let me know. Thanks.

Are you talking about in-person lessons, like a guitar tutor/class? Or something online?

If you follow the Lisa McCormick's intro to picking an struming, her video on holding ,tuning ect the guitar you really dont need a teacher. I tried the teacher route, but where with Lisa or any of them they are at my finger tips (not pun intended). Besides GT is alot less expensive than a private teacher. lindap

Call your area community college.. Also try calling instrument stores. They maybe able to point you in the right direction.
What is better is follow Linda P advice and then start looking for a Jam Mate or two..

Try Monster Music in Levittown. They don't offer a group type lesson, but the staff are very Knowledgable. Also check with BOCES or Wilson Tech. They offer lessons from beginner on up. Good luck
