I have been using the Hercules stand on 4 of my guitars for years and had no issues. Just adjust them to sit high enough that vacuum will not hit them.

If you have kids in house or humidity issues (most do) yes I would store in case. I recommend buying a humidity gauge to put next to any wood instruments. Buy humidifier or dehumidifier if needed. I had to buy both.
