After twenty years I have decided to get back into playing the guitar. I did not have time to attend scheduled lessons and was told about this site by a guitar teacher. I am glad I took their advice and checked this website out, I have been a member for a couple of weeks and have been on here every day. Glad to be part of the community!

I am in central Illinois and the only guitar that I have right now is a Breedlove cascade acoustic. I like all types of music and but normally play blues, country, and classic rock. Thank you for the welcome and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can!

Hey Michael!
Welcome to Guitar Tricks! It's a fun place to learn. I too picked up the guitar after a long absence. I have purchased 2 guitars (saving up my nickels and dimes) I have a seagull performer series guitar and a Seagull 12 string S-12. Both are excellent and I would put them up against any guitar that cost much more for quality and sound!
Glad you're here! Keep on keepin' on!

Welcome.

Form Northern Illinois. GOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!! .....well, I'm originally from Minnesota so, there's that ;)

Welcome to GT. Good place to learn at all levels. Even though I haven't much had time ti invest in playing lately, I still keep my GT membership for when I want to pick something up. I've been playing a long time and there's stuff here for me too. Great site.

Breedlove? Nice guitar and underrated too.

Thank you for the welcome!!! I have not been here long but have enjoyed all of the lesson so far and have been able to break a couple of old habits already. I am looking forward to being here for a long time.

Hello, I'm Jim. I'm 52 and just picked up the guitar for the first time back in September 2014. My main guitar for now is a Johnson Player 610 acoustic steel string. Finger picking is my thing so far. The first song I learned to play was Silent Lucidity by Queensryche. At present I can play about 12 different songs mostly Clapton and Hendrix with two songs by SRV. I've spent most of the last two weeks working on the main solo from Layla Unplugged by Clapton.
I'm retired so I can easily practice for 2 hours a day or longer. My wife loves my hobby since it keeps me 'outta her hair all day.
