in Guitar Fund 2, you show sometimes to play the open E on 1St string, sometimes not.....with Bm you never play the open E, correct?

I'm assuming you are referring to this lesson on the B minor chord.

You are correct! I avoid playing the high E string at all because this is before we get to barre chords. At this point I want you understand & play just one note per finger.

The image at the bottom of the page shows this fingering clearly.

However, later in GF2 I introduce barre chords! At that point you'll have to learn how to barre across from the lower strings all the way over to the high E & barre with with your index finger.

sorry I was referring to Am, you show it both ways
but I understand the logic, and wait until the barre chord
lots of work, but very useful refresher
