Band Names
Hey first of all thanx to everyone who helped me with my guitar playing problem. Now to the problem. I got a band we are ready to start recording we've been workin up to it for about a year now, however we have one small problem...no name. We had one we thought was cool 'till i looked it up and it was already copyrighted. So if ne of you guys out there have ne ideas for a name...throw them out we wanna hear them.

Helps if we knew what kinda music your band plays.....
i dunno if u did like country music and were called Verbose Bile then it kida doesn't fit.

heheh, looking at that page of names,there are ALOT of names that i would avoid...
Making up words all together is cool , and so is using words from different langauges.
I'm sure we've had this discusion before...

Speaking of names, do any of you use stage names/nicknames like Slash or Noodles etc? I often think Chacron would make a cool stage name but if anyone ever found out where I got it from in the first place i would be called a sad bastard forever.....lol

Mine is "La Limace". I have picks that look like that to throw into the screaming audience

Yea i use stage namez mine is wick...long story if u wanna know e-mail me. and my drummer is stickz. Oj by the way in response to our type of style...metal...we base ourselves of of Metallica and GnR type playing

Any name wiil be OK, as long as the name doesn't end with a "z", their is a 80's curse on that letter........

I can't figure a name to suggest.
I use kingdavid coz when I asked my mom where my name came from,she told me it was kingdavid of the bible;the one who beat goliath.
But if/when I record,that's the name I'll use.I've even thought of a name for me first album;
The African King.:)

nah man, you need a good band, something that is good and completlty original, a one name, band name.
Think of something from your heart man, that's where the good names come from.
I for myself have a band name, and its called "Junkyard" hopefully i'll get somewhere with it.
Just dont steal that name.

you could always pick up a medical dictionary and look through that... heheh,
You could do the cringe worthy act of using puns for a name...
Foo Cough (sounds like a scots man saying F- off!)
Foo King Hell (sould like a scots mans saying F_ing HEll!)
You could also take song names of band names, Like "Junkyard" wich was written by Nirvana ;), "Downer" again a nirvana song, "radio head" a talking heads song,
Or you could steal film titles like "Black Sabath" and "they might be gaints" did.

Say all your favorites through a pedal that backmasts, thats how I got the names for my first demos.
