Hi im a new member on here and loving it....

Having trouble watching videos on Guitar Tricks and playing my guitar through Guitar Rig at the same time. Seems you can have one or the other ?

When i open Guitar Rig and plug my guitar in using my Rocksmith usb cable everything is fine im using asio4all.

But when i play a video in Guitar Tricks there is no sound, if i close Guitar Rig I get sound back on Guitar Tricks and visa vesa.

If im on Guitar Tricks first and getting sound and then open Guitar Rig and open the Asio4all control it says MS GS WAVETABLE SYNTH ENABLED ?

Would be perfect if i could play along as i watch the videos ?

Thanks

Hi g-richardson,

Sorry to hear of the issue. We don't have a set-up like that to test in the office (but we're going to get one).

Anyone else tried the set-up that g-richardson has?

Ben

I do not have Guitar Rig but I have a couple questions about your set up.

I believe Guitar Rig is software not hardware. If I am correct then there is another piece of the puzzle... the interface to your machine. What is that piece...? What do you connect your guitar cable into on your computer...?

Personally I think that may be were the issue is... If you look at the configuration for the interface... do you have options like maybe ... use your interface as a sound card...? If so, you might try that setting and see if it helps.

Hi I'm using my Xbox rock smith cable it plugs into a USB socket.
Guitar rig seems to use asio4all as the interface and that takes control of your audio card ? Bit vague sorry.

So when you play a video in guitar tricks it has no audio card because guitar rig has control of it ? So it's one or the other ?

Please don't take my response as the official answer. I am just hanging here like you are and trying to offer some help to a fellow guitar enthusiast.

I was making a suggestion for you to look at some settings and possibly try something with the hopes that it would solve your problem.

I know when I set up my UX1 interface I had some funky things going on with the sounds and ended up making the UX1 my 'sound card'

Good luck. I hope you will circle back and let us know how things go.

Hi I googled it and it seems ASIO4all can only handle one audio source at a time, so hence if you are watching a Guitar Tricks video you can not have Guitar rig or Youtube working at the same time. Not sure what other guitar interfaces use ?

Well that is really interesting. Especially since, as afar as I know, ASIO is in very general use!

I wonder if there are other more suitable drivers that can be used. I hope so.

I am transitioning to a new machine and getting ready to set up my interface on the new machine. This info comes at a good time for me.

thanks
