Put a new set of Ernie Ball 0.9s on my Jackson SDX. They sound very tinny and vibrate/rattle a lot. Will this improve with use or is it a fault with the strings ??

Is your SDX equipped with a floyd rose?

String tension needs to be balanced off and they can be tricky to restring when sticking with the same string gauge and a challenge if changing gauge.

But not impossible!

Check out John Carruthers' books on guitar maintenance for reference or see whether your local music store will show you how to restring and set-up.

Good luck!

I encourage you to ask our resident Guitar Tech, Steve White!

More than likely, you have changed string gauges to a set with less tension and you're not getting the same load on the neck. Your truss rod probably needs to be adjusted. If you're not comfortable with basic tech work, take it to a shop to have it adjusted... most places will do this when they change the strings for you!

If you're comfortable with basic work, there should be tutorials all over the place that cover it.
