I just started playing about 2 months ago.... so forgive me if this subject has already been beat to death :/ I've been learning on a Cort Earth 70 but just upgraded to a Seagull S6 dreadnaught. Which brand and size of strings would you guys recommend to really bring the Seagull to her full potential? I've been using medium lights and I don't experience any discomfort anymore. I'm manly strumming and using a pick! Wow what a great hobby!

I also have the Seagull S-6 and 14 other guitars and I think 4 only cost me $ 140.00
I remove the cheap strings and install ELIXIR MEDIUM.
I also cange the bridge and nut to the bone type on the cheap guitars.
Check out this site because if he dosent have what you want then they don't make it.
The strings are priced lower then any oter place I checked and they not only sound better but last 5 times longer.

Check out Lisa McCormick.
She speaks slow, shows where to place your fingers and in a week you'll be doing some excellent finger picking.
I play Country roads both strumming and finger picking and the finger picking sounds so much better.
