First of all, Im VERRY nervous to post this. But its a first time for everything I gues. I recorded this at my dads place. He lives 400 miles cross the country so I thought it would be a good idea to recorded there when I visited him.

So I found a nice slow blues backing track in B and practise the B dorian scale for a whole week. Should probably practise some more. :P

Anyway, Im running it thrue a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 and a reverb and a over drive pedal.

As I said, its my first time and I was pretty nervous and hoppefully I will do better on my next video.

Enjoy

Honestly, don't be hard on yourself. It was good. I think you have a good idea of where you're with regard to your playing from what I read around here at GT. So, as we all do at all levels, have room to grow. In listening to this, I think you have a really good send of melody and timing. You have a sense of where you she be in the key you're playing. Very important. Build from that.

Good job!

Thanks you!! :)

I was having that as a goal. To stay correct on key and also timing so Im not unsync with the backing track.

Hoppefully it will be a new one up as soon as posible. :)

I totally agree with this. Your sense of timing is almost natural. I had to work with a metronome for months to get my timing and feel where it is now, but I think it wouldn't take you more than a month to get to an advanced level of timing if you push yourself and do the correct exercises!

I see you improving very quickly! Thanks for posting this!

Nice work Mattias! I like your playing style. Keep up the practice and definitely just work on your tonality via picking and also picking a bit lighter overall, other than that you're on the right track with your playing. And like the others have said your rhythmic flow is really good, as you're really going at a nice pace with this slow tempo song you have backing you. Keep it up!!

I haven't been on the forum here much lately and I can't believe I missed this. Glad I found it eventually.

Nicely done Mattias!! That sounded really really good!! I agree with all of the comments here. You played something that didn't sound like an exercise, which many players do starting out with improvised soloing. Mine certainly did :). Your timing, another huge problem for people, was very good. And rhythmically, you mixed things up and didn't play a constant stream of quarter notes.

You got some nice vibrato technique you are developing also.

Just keep doing what you are doing, and your playing will become more fluid as you gain more confidence.

I look forward to your next recording.

Thanks! :)

It feels great that Im on the right track. I really enjoy the style that im playing. It feels comfortable and sounds nice, to me. :)

I dont know about the vibrato, I havent really practise on it. It just was like that the first time I tried it. :P
