Ive been playing guitar for about six months and Im beginning to explore scales and solos to improve my speed. Im having trouble figuring out the best place to put my right (picking) hand. Resting it behind the bridge ( I think thats what its called) seems to put my hand far from the strings, on the bridge (or where ever the strings stop) makes it a little difficult to reach the lowest strings and above the low E string is also akward. Do I just leave it in the air or will I just get used to a spot?
This is for both standing and sitting for electrics. Thanks

Find a spot where you are comfortable. To pick the 6 strings, you'll need to move your hand though. So there won't be a perfect spot. Pick with your wrist, but move your hand with your elbow.
