I have one of these and was thinking of mounting it up inside the guitar hole and not the grooves.
Then cut the cord and run it down inside the guitar body and make it a permanent sound hole pick up/
Open for suggestions

Is it one by Seymour Duncan? If so, which model?

It came in a cloth bag with the big words SEYMOUR DUNCAN) WOODY on it but no model number or any other name.
A tiny sticker under one side has very small print that says
SA-CH-3
No other information on it

Are you happy with the pickup...? Does it sound great...?

Is it getting in your way when it is normally mounted...?

Thanks

Yes,
I just don't like the cord hanging out and I don't see why I can't mount it inside and not shove it in it grooves.
My problem is where I should mount it.
I was thinking of farther up so only half of the WOODY shows.

How would you permanently mount it? How would you plug it into your amp?

Personally I think it would not be a good idea, for several reasons. Consider this, if you mount it INSIDE the guitar, then I would expect that would really increase the space between the pick up and the strings. This would surely reduce the effectiveness and performance of the pickup.

I would say if you REALLY want the CORD to be inside the guitar, I suppose you could install an end pin jack and connect it to that while still using the grooves to mount it.

You could, instead, consider using one of the many alternatives to a soundhole pickup, which would likely also provide superior performance over a soundhole pickup.

I already cut the cord, soldered the jack and put a nice dull black curved plate on the threaded part and it sounds super

Good luck. I 'll be curious to hear how you end up mounting the pickup and how it all goes. I hope you will let keep us posted.

It is mounted as of yesterday.
Its about 1/4 inch exposed below the fret board.
I just plug in the cord with 1/4 inch jacks on both ends and plug it into the AMP.
Sounds very good.
I have one of these blenders so I may decide to install that aling with a volum control.

I have one as well that I am happy with - for a magnetic pickup on acoustic... which is a little unique. Its good that you have a humbucker - I found - as when I treat the sound later in the signal chain noise was an issue with the single coil fishman I used to own.

I did find that closer to the neck in my acoustic was a much more pleasing tone....

I also found that di's that are meant for piezo's didnt always shine as much as a different preamp -

these days - I use the woody as a di - into a black lion b173 - and a condensor mic out front of the guitar to record with. Its a nice combo as the woody gets some things that the mic cannot.
