Just joined GT during the discount period. I'm a 65 year old youngster, decided to learn guitar about a month ago as an activity I can carry on in retirement. I played violin for about 6 years in my youth, but no instruments since then. I indulged myself with a nice electric guitar and tried a number of online resources, as well as a few private lessons, but felt they were missing on the fundamentals. My wife had bought me the Christmas songbook Lisa put out, and I really enjoyed it, so when I found Lisa was a trainer on GT and they had their special, it was a no-brainer to sign up.

I'm working through GF 1, and am really enjoying it. I appreciate the focus on fundamentals and technique - chord formation troubleshooting, chord changes, finger exercises, etc. I'm getting ok at getting good sounds on the full chords until I try to speed up, then things get muddy. I do have a real challenge with the pinky version of F though! My ring finger bends over and mutes the A string. Will keep working on it and on the chord change strategies. I just finished the introductory sections on scales and chord theory and found it fascinating, looking forward to more! Glad to have forums to share with experiences with others as well as get help and advice
