Hey all!

I started taking guitar lessons in high school. My teacher wasn't the greatest, and I never was motivated to play too much outside of the lessons.

I subscribed to Guitar Tricks two months ago to start again. I realize that to really improve, I also need fellow guitar players! I'm excited to learn from these forums as well.

I'm currently going through the Core Foundations course, as well as teaching myself a couple of songs.

Does anybody have any tips for a renewed beginner?

Welcome!!

Being surrounded by guitar players really helps...even if it is just virtually in a forum or lesson site. I've been here for almost 2 years and my playing has improved more in the past 2 years than it did in the previous 10 or more.

My only suggestion is to start from the very beginning here even though you are not an absolute beginner. You'll fly through the early material, but it will be good review and help firm up your foundation. You'll hit a point where it's new...and then it's time to really dig in.

The song library here is great! So go through the lessons and learn songs too.

If you want, you can also post recordings of your playing in the Listener Post. It's a great way to get feedback and suggestions from other players.
