Hey man,

I just bought Cubase (version 5 I think?), well it actually came with my interface that I bought. I installed it thinking it would be pretty simple to learn, and man was I wrong!

But I finally figured most of it out. In order to hear what you're playing as you're playing it with the effects, you have to plug your interface device (from its "Phones" jack) into another speaker.

But honestly, because it's so difficult to learn, I just use the free version of Amplitube 3 to record. I use the amps and pedals in Amplitube sometimes, but other times I bypass all their effects and amps and just run my amp through the interface into Amplitube. Amplitube 3 lets you record 4 tracks on top of each other. So you can load a drum track, a backing track, and still have 2 more tracks to record guitar or vocals.

If you don't have Amplitube yet, follow these instructions:

Step 1: Register for free account with IK Multimedia
https://www.ikmultimedia.com/userar...EDIRECT=FREEPRD

Step 2: Download Amplitube 3 (Comes with small selection of pedals and amps)
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube/

Step 3: Download Custom Shop (like the catalog of items for amplitube)
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitubecs/

Step 4: Launch Amplitube, log into it

Step 5: Download Asio4all - http://www.asio4all.com/ (you'll need to select this in your Amplitube settings as your input and possibly your output device)

Set 6: Open Custom Shop. Browse items and try them for 2 or 3 days I believe for free. But you can use Amplitube and all the stock items for as long as you want without paying.

It all works really well.
