Hello all,

New to Guitar Tricks and am looking forward to all the insight than can be offered here.

The title is a misleading and here is why.. I have been playing "rhythm" guitar on and off now for about 20 years. I define rhythm as first position/capo'd chords. Recently I have been more off than on and want to put an effort towards playing again. In a vague statement, I just want to be able to play. Style doesn't matter. Today I feel like playing rock. Tomorrow I may feel like Jazz. The next day I may want to play fingerstyle/classical. I can read single note music in the treble clef.

Again, I know vague at best. But based on the above, would it be better to start with the Classical/Fingerstyle sections and then move to the other styles? Is there a "foundation" that should be learned first prior to moving into the styles?

Thank you in advance for any insight.
