I have been a member for a bit but every time I get ready to really make a run at learning this art something happens in my life and It shuts me down. I got my first guitar a little over a year ago and soon after I joined guitartricks. Well, on March 2nd of this year my father lost his battle with liver cancer. I really want to learn how to play and I have set a personal goal. This time next year I want to be able to tell people that I can play the guitar. It's not going to be easy but I know I can do it. I just have to be patient and know when to step away and take a break. I am not looking to become a guitar prodigy. I just want to be able to pick up the guitar and play some of my favorite songs. Classic rock, old style country as well as modern country are my favorite genre's. I'm sure this is gonna be an interesting endeavor and hopefully this time next year I can jam with others.
