I keep going back and forth on plain flat pick and thumb picks. I like the fact that thumb picks can keep the pick from moving, yet, the position or angle doesn't seem or feel right. I've been using the Herco thumb pick, and in the past I've tried slim picks as well. Any thoughts on this?

I've thought of using a thumb pick but only for learning banjo. Guitar seems more satisfying with a regular pick. I actually prefer jazz picks the best because they're thick enough to not bend. Some of them are pretty small though. I found some that were bigger (the Petrucci Jazz III). They're 1.5 mm if you can believe that.

What style do you want to be able to play Barry?
