When the site was originally built the coding team had to pick a set of categories that a lesson could be associated with. And the more categories a lesson can be associated with, the trickier the organization & searching gets. I know from creating content that sometimes you have to pick one main category that a lesson belongs in, even if it also covers or touches on several others! :)
And some of that is just the nature of music & teaching. Everything is ultimately integrated.

What's the best way to do it?

Start by searching for theory. And then add or subtract any other term you can think of to help broaden or narrow your search: scale, diatonic, chord, harmony.
And beyond that, ask me! :)
[QUOTE=todorenko]Would be nice to have clickable tags and categories. Then one click on a Theory or Blues category would give me all lessons on the subject.
I like the lessons. Are there any plans to improve the content navigation?
Great idea! And yes there are plans to improve the navigation. I'm not a coder or on the coding team. But I can forward your concerns to them!
