As others have pointed out, you really can't buy a guitar expecting it to appreciate in value or really hold it. I bought a faded Gibson LP a few years ago. I decided I wanted something more, so moved up to a LP Standard. I thought that since my faded LP was a Gibson, it should command a decent price used. Well....not really. A local shop wanted to give me about 1/3 of what it cost new, and it's in pristine condition! First I'm going to try and sell it locally, then EBay as a last resort.
