Hello to all. I am new to the world of guitar and need some help. I joined guitartricks several months ago but I am just getting back into learning this beautiful art. Not long after I joined, my dad was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and 23 days later he lost his battle. I want to learn this art so bad but I need some info on how to learn finger placement on the guitar in order to make the chords. I don't want to always have to look down in order to accomplish this. I guess it will become muscle memory in time. Is their anything specific that I can practice? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and God Bless.

I too am fairly new to the art of playing guitar.

Learning finger placement can be difficult. So, I use a mirror it's a personal size, I would guess 4x5, and I prop it up to show my left hand. I can see instantly where the problem is, without straining. With muscle memory, I find I don't need it as much.

Hope this helps, it did for me.
