Looking for a strap to keep my neck heavy guitar from sliding to a perpendicular (sometimes even below) level while I'm trying to play standing up. I've only been playing for about 7 months, so all I have is just a basic starter strap that I got with my basic starter guitar so I wouldn't be out too much if I didn't care for guitarist things.

From looking around, it seems like a wide suede strap is the best solution, so I was thinking about going with one of these baddies (they look pretty slick as well.) http://italiastraps.com/guitar-straps-uk.html

Any thoughts on them? Something else you might recommend? Thanks for the advice!

I'm a big believer in, and user of, a wide LockIt Strap as found here; http://lockitstraps.com/ . I also like and use a wide Planet Waves (bass) strap.

Where in Texas are you? I called San Antonio home for better than a third of a century before moving to the Missoula region.

Neat, I looked around, but the widest I saw were the 2 1/2 leather ones.

I just moved to Fort Worth like a year ago, but before that I was right outside of Beaumont for years.

If it's a neck-heavy acoustic, get one that ties behind the nut rather than connects at the heel. Supposedly the weight being distributed doesn't warp the next. Ask Tommy Smothers.
