That's awesome mglaide that you were able to write some music using things you've learned here!

@tbuchalski, there's a great variety of tools here. You have an ordered program with the fundamentals and genre paths (rock/blues/country). And as you said, you can go off and learn some songs.

The key for me was being able to play a song. Way back as a kid, I tried using a Mel Bay book. I lost interest quickly. A friend of mine showed me some easy chords and a song to play with them. Once I could do that, I was hooked and on my way!

Rocksmith may become another tool for you to use. I've heard of people having fun with it, though it's probably not good as your primary learning tool.
