I'm thinking that the next project I'm going to tackle is Eruption by Van Halen. I know it's going to take me a while. But my question is: do I pretty much need a wammy bar? If so, I could go ahead and get one for my Strat, but I was just curious how much it is really needed for this piece.

Also, does anyone know a source for an accurate tab for it? Key word being "accurate."

Its called , PHRASE BY PHRASE , BY JOHN STERNAL. HE TEACHES YOU ERUPTION AND SOME OTHER EVH SONGS TOO. COST $20. I HAD SOME CREDIT AT MY LOCAL MUSIC STORE. SO I PICKED UP PHRASE BY PHRASE , LED ZEPPELIN.
HE DOES A GOOD JOB TEACHING THE SONG. HE DOESN'T RUSH THROUGH IT. THIS MIGHT BE UR BEST BEST. THIS WAY YOU HAVE THE WHOLE SONG TO LEARN.
ON YOUTUBE THEY WILL TEACH JUST A PIECE OF IT.

GOOD LUCK.
BTW, LEARN THE SONG , DONT WORRY ABOUT HAVEIN A TREM BAR.

Thanks, I'll check that out. You said don't worry about a trem bar, but it isn't it kind of necessary for a couple parts of the song?

There's at least one dive bomb on the whammy bar in there - the one at the end of the first half before he goes into the last part.

Back in the day I always wanted to be able to play it - good luck with it!
