does anyone know any alternative bands that mix a little funk/blues riffs into their songs...where can i find tabs for these bands? also, are there any funky excercises or scales i can learn to add that element into my playing?

There's this funk band called Freekbass that do what your talkin' about. I've seen a couple of their shows and they never dissapoint if your in groovin' mood.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

I dont know man. Funk/Jazz/Alternative seems pretty odd. But whatever floats your boat. :)

This is the website for the band. I think they got an independent CD out. They're a Cincinnati Band.

check out 311, or the chili peppers. Or why not go right to the source and listen to parliament or james brown.
