I am slowly learning how to add in runs from chord to chord, say G --> C leading up to the next bit in the song. I am wondering how you might structure a run from a song verse ending in a G to a chorus that starts with a G. So, what do you do with a G to G?
How to build a run from verse to chorus

Lots of options!
You can use the V chord in G, which is D. So, these notes, d-d-e-f#, will walk nicely into a G chord. Or you can walk down, d-c-b-a!
Or you can use the IV chord, which is C. Walk up, c-d-e-f# or down, c-c-b-a.
I cover this here.

Depends on how much time you have or what sounds better to you in your song! Hope this helps!
