iPhone will not play video lessons using cell data

I'd like to sign up for a year with the $99 promotion going on now, but this is a deal breaker. Unless I'm using wifi, I can't get my iPhone to play the video portions of the lessons. I've tried switching between LTE and 3G networks, resetting the phone, changing the video quality, etc. etc. No luck. I do not have this problem on other websites, only here, which is frustrating as it's the only site that I pay for content. Please help!

Is this a flash thing? Again, I stream them fine when connected to wifi but when I try to use cell data, I get a No circle around the play icon. This is a new thing, I'd been doing fine until a week ago.

I tested this and I able to watch a video on an iphone on 3G right now with no problems. So you should be able to get back to normal. It isn't something we are preventing you from doing. Here's some questions that might generate a clue as to what's going on:

Is this happening with all videos or just one?

What happens if you change from hi res file to lo res?

Yeah, hi res, lo res, mobile, old or new player, any video, no go. Switch on wifi, refresh and presto! Video works. Switch back to 3G, refresh and nada. What's perplexing is that it used to work. I'm assuming its something with my phone or provider. My account is up to date and I have unlimited data. Hmmmm.

This has become extremely frustrating. I've attached a screen shot that shows what I'm dealing with. Some videos can be played, while others (the vast majority) can not. I've reset everything on my phone, cleared cookies, etc, etc. Again, if I'm hooked to wifi it works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about this. We've never heard of this before and are stumped. Are you using a non-standard carrier? Could it be that they're blocking videos?

This is still happening. I can watch some of the videos but some others give me the "No" sign. For instance, the first five lessons in the sections on power and barre chords in blues play fine but the last two do not. None of the rock fundamental videos play, but I can switch over to the blues course and its hit-or-miss.

I can't help but think this is on the website side of things.

Let's pick one specific lesson that won't work for you on cell data and we'll try it on cell data over here.

Most of the videos on the site give me the no smoking circle.

I tried both links today on an iphone with cell data and it worked no problem.

The likely problem is some server in between your geography and us that is failing to "pass along" the data when it is supposed to. These problems are really annoying and usually resolve themselves after a while, leaving no clue about why they happened. Our server company won't be able to fix it and neither will your ISP.

Have you tried switching resolution, from low to mid, mid to high? Since some videos work and some don't you might have better luck switching your resolution, give that a try and let me know?
