C Major Scale for Beginners Lesson 1 was comprehendable-nice and slow. Then I moved on to Lesson 2 and it was like going from 0-60mph in 2 seconds. I couldn't understand a thing and still don't. I'm just a very new beginner, so this is all completely foreign to me to begin with. I thought maybe the next lesson would review and start over by going slow but it just kept moving on. So, needless to say, so very frustrated at the present.

First & foremost, I'm sorry you are frustrated. Lesson 1 simply introduces the sound of the scale. Lesson 2 & 3 are then focused on visualizing the patterns the C major scale forms on the fretboard in order to play it.

This whole tutorial is focused on the concept of the major scale, the theory aspect of the scale. If you grasp that the C major scale is a specific series of notes that make a familiar sound, then as a total beginner that's all you really need to know after watching this tutorial for the first time.

And as a total beginner, any given theory lesson is going to necessarily contain a wealth of info that might seem overwhelming at this stage. But, since the courses are structured for multiple viewings & re-viewings, it's fine to just go forward to the next tutorial!

In the next tutorial you'll be given more practical, specific, concrete things to do with the C major scale. :)

As you move forward through the course you'll see these ideas get used again, reintroduced & applied in different ways. You can always go back and review the earlier tutorials as you delve deeper into any given topic. For example, as you go forward, you will learn more & more uses for scales, what they are, how they can be applied in different ways.

So, keep going forward! If you have specific questions about this or any topic the easiest & quickest way to ask me is in my instructor forum.
