You have to work with what you got. Some people were born with mile long fingers that can bend any which way. Others were born with stubby fingers. Both can make it work on the guitar. Tommy Iommi from Black Sabbath had part of one of his fingertips chopped off and still managed to have a decent career as a professional guitarist.

I showed players and non players and their little finger pointed way out but laid nice and flat on the fret board.
I'm not going to worry about it because that finger is starting to harden up on the side.
If you put your mind to it you can do anything.
