I use a Snark SN1. It clips to the headstock and works really well. You don't need to use a cable and since it doesn't use a microphone, you don't need it to be quiet.

Anybody I show it to thinks it's awesome.

Korg the old type
Deltalab clip on. CT39.. $30. Works as described by the Snark users.
Works on vibration through instrument. Useful on stringed instruments and more.
Purchase of any tuner through your local music stores or on line vender..

+1 again for the Snark above. Super convenient to use, battery lasts a long time and less than $12 on Amazon. Sometimes included in GT promos.

EDIT: To be clear, I have the Snark SN2. I don't know how it differs from the SN1...seems to have the same features and similar low, low price at Amazon. :D

i have to agree snark makes awsome tuners.i have the sn8 all instrument tuner,it has a metronome built in it.i never use it for the metro but its good to have.sn1 sn8 there all the same imo.but what i found to be the quickiest tuner is the clamp on by delta lab.this one is way faster then the snark.the one i have is now broken i would like to get another, but iam happy with my snark.
and whats good about snark there life time warrenty.yep just send marcy an email at marcy@snarktuners.com,she will email you a prepaid label send it to her and she will send you a new one.so i would go with snark.....

A) Snark :D
B) I wouldn't hesitate to look at GC, Sweetwater or Musicians Friend but look for a deal. I found sale at Sweetwater once where they had the Snark for like 7.99 or something silly and I got 3...I think the thing is, a Snark isn't that expensive and don't go to the GC store...there you will pay too much.

yeah i agree for one snark tuners arent expensive.unless you go to GC. the thing with sweetwater is they dont do price macth.and they say the reason is cause there tech support they will stay on the phone with you and answer any and all qeustions.btw the last time i was at GC i had seen the snark sn8 selling for $34.99.that is so crazy,i can buy fife of them at that price on amazon.get a deltalab there way better then snark.like i said the good think with snark if it breaks you will get a new one at no cost.my most expensive snark was $20.because of its color its white and thats what i wanted to put on my white guitar.and it doesnt tune all instruments no metronome, just plain jain white...and that was at amazon duh dumb.

see i like sweetwater good ppl to talk with, but they dont price macth.
musicians friend would be the place to look at,there always beeting there competitors in price.and they are caching up with sweetwater as far as tech support.

i have to agree i think deltalab tuners are great, the one i had for about three years just broke.there fast and very accurate.need to get another one.but i have three new sn8 never used, and one iam useing.so iam not in the market for a tuner,if i had to buy a new tuner it would be deltalab hands down.

I just made my first purchase from musiciansfriend.com; a twenty dollar amp stand. Not only was it the lowest price I could find (and with free S&H), I got a "shipped" notice less than four hours after I placed the order. On a Saturday, no less! Color me impressed. :)

I've had good luck with Musician's Friend. All of my stands have come from them - music stand, 3 guitar stands, amp stand, and monitor stands. I've always got great deals and the stuff is high quality. Their "stupid deal of the day" has some good stuff cheaply. My Zoom G5 came from them too actually.

I've never had a problem with them.
