I used to play at a beginner/intermediate level (classical guitar), but got married, had babies...now I'm homeschooling my kids and am searching for something that can be just for me!

I am enjoying learning more about picking, strumming patterns, and generally becoming a better folk guitar player so I can have fun singing with my friends. I'd like to feel more competent when singing and playing.

In general, I tend to gravitate towards folk music, swing bands, Bare Naked Ladies, Elliot Smith, Ben Folds Five, Asylum Street Spankers, just to name a few.

Thanks!

Welcome!

I'm a Ben Folds fan too, and I like this arrangement of Missing the War:

It is a pretty difficult pinky workout on your left hand, trying to imitate what a piano can do. So maybe not something you could do just yet, but still I thought you'd enjoy seeing it.

thanks, Jon!
I'll have to go back and listen to the BF5 song again! One of the things I'm working on is getting the rhythm right...no doubt a finger workout will be fun.
