I am 41 years old and I have been a drummer since I was 8, minored in music in college, played in the Marine Corps and Navy Bands and have been playing ever since. This journey into guitar playing has been fun so far!
Hello
Nice to be here, I am really excited about being a member of Guitar Tricks and I look forward to "meeting" everybody here. I must confess, I joined GT almost a year ago, but I have only recently gotten into a regular practice schedule...I am a working musician and it has been hard to humble myself to beginner status all over again with this new adventure.

Drumming to guitar, eh? That's got to be an interesting switch. The good thing is that your timing and rhythm should be spot on. Now you just need your ability on a guitar to catch up!
One thing a lot of people don't realize about the guitar is that it's almost just as much of a percussion instrument as it is a string instrument. For instance, you're pretty much using it as a percussion instrument when palm muting the lower strings while locking in with the kick drums.
