I am jim. I am new to guitar tricks, I took five years of private lessons and still can't play the guitar very well. I just learned amazing grace for the acoustic guitar. it sounds pretty good, I never memorized songs, I would like to learn songs by memory so I can perform them. is the guitar a hard instrument to learn?

I find guitar tricks to be a great site, I learn so much more from this site then I did from half hour and hour lessons from a private instructor at a music school. I would also like to teach beginning guitar, What do you recommend for me to use this site?
I have two electric guitars and one acoustic. I love the guitar and want to be a good guitarist,

Hello Jim!

Welcome to guitartricks!
We have a huge plethora of beginner lessons and easy to moderately difficult songs you can check out here. I suggest you start there and figure exactly what level you are at, then set a goal for yourself to learn a certain song or technique. Focus on that till it sticks then move on. It takes a lot of time and patience to learn an instrument. The level of difficulty in each one of our videos is rated by little red guitars, I suggest sticking to the easier ones in the beginning and then moving on. It's better to master something and then graduate to a higher level than get a head of yourself and try things that are too hard. It'll only be detrimental to your progress.

Hope that helps!
