Put it this way: Marshall stacks sound awesome at full blast, there is a reason why they are so well known. If you play yours full balst at anything other than an outdoors concert, you are not going to hear it because your eardrums will be blown. If you mainly play in your room, or just jams with friends, you're never going to get the most out of your stack, and so it is not worth the price. You'd probably get a lot more worth out of, say, a 40 or 50 watt amp that sounds nice quiet, than a full stack.
