about minor key
How are the notes arranged differently in a minor key song or symphony? I've always liked Beethoven's minor keyed symphonies and I was wondering if there is a way to transfer that over to writing music for the guitar. Are there minor scales? And if so, what would be a D minor scale? Are those the only notes of a minor song? Or are there particular minor notes that would be more prevalent throughout the song? thanx.

the answer is simple. If you learn and memorize and master (or just get good at) all of the Major Scales (A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#) you will then know the relative minors for them. Get a scale book, and once you learn all of those, you'll find that just about any piece of music, you will know what scale it is on (with the exception on eastern culture music, etc)
