I am facing some trouble with my Ibanez GRG170 DX electric guitar. If I tune one string, another gets detuned; in other words, turning one machine head tunes more than one string. This ha wasted a lot of my time in tuning. Please give me any solutions to this.

are you using a tuner pedal or just trying to tune the guitar by ear?

Check on youtube for a video, their is some great instructional videos out there. You may be having trouble because of the trem. They are tricky.

Is the problem that when you tune up (higher in frequency) on one string, the other string goes flat? If so, its most likely because your trem system. What you have to do is just get the strings close to being in tune, and almost anticipate that tightening one is going to cause the others to go flat. So get it close, and then just make smaller and smaller adjustments on each string until you're in tune.

If you are way out of tune, and tune one string at a time, with a trem system like that, the other strings are not going to stay in tune. You can't slacken or tighten one string significantly without affecting the others.

I am using my pedal's tuner, which is not stable at all, so it leaves me in even more doubt, as there is some difference seen in the tuning. And by the trem system you mean the Tremolo/Whammy arm?

So how can this be reduced?
