Good for you for taking the plunge! I'm sure it felt warm in the building :-)!

Playing in church was my sole exposure to playing in front of an audience. It was certainly nerve wracking in the beginning. It's a great way to build up confidence and to give your playing and practice time a purpose. My playing improved considerably during the 1.5 years I did it.
