I have also learned that if you start playing with others, you will learn faster. Unfortunately... Not many other 60 year old beginners so that makes that part difficult. That said, excited to get started and learn some stuff!

Glad to see other ole timers trying to learn!
Just started playing on Jan 1, 2013, (New years resolution) and so far so good. Decided I would not hire an instructor and began with YouTube lessons. Then realized I was learning a song but not much more. Tried another Web site for a year... Got bored. Now trying Guitar Tricks.... The site blows me away and I am excited to work my way thru the basic lessons and get on with other lessons.
