Not sure if you've seen it but there is a game called Guitarbots online which is similar to Rocksmith, it even works with the Rocksmith cable. The biggest problem I have with both of these games is they have some lag issues. Rocksmith isn't so bad when you run sound through the component cables into a stereo, but I haven't figured out a suitable solution for Guitarbots. Either way the games are a fun and novel way to learn guitar, they also engage the kids which is a plus for getting them interested in learning guitar. I have to say though, nothing beats seeing real hands, finger positioning, and some good old tabs (imo, other than having a proper instructor).
