I love that Guitar Tricks has many licensed songs from many genres and costs less than other sites.
In the past I have played mostly metal and hard rock. I was glad to see some Pantera and Megadeth in the song list. However, I am looking to expand my horizons and learn to be a more versatile guitarist. I would like to be able to jam with anybody regardless of style. Hopefully Guitar Tricks will help me down that road.
Ever heard of Rocksmith ? I bought the game in October because I was bored. Haven't played since I was 16 Retired now (hint ) . It was fantastic to learn how to play guitar again. But most of the songs in the game are not my style of music. Sounds like Rocksmith is right up your alley. I learned so much while having fun rocking with the band. Then I found Lisa on youtube and that brought me here where I can learn more my style of music I want to learn. This is a great site But Rocksmith is Super if you want to learn Metal Punk and stuff like that.
Happy Rocking
