Thanks for the updates Compart... keep 'em coming. I'd like to know how long it takes you to get up & running. I find that for serious practice, its really important to be able to sit down, plug the guitar in, and get playing as quickly as possible (whether one is using an amp, effects unit, their computer etc). The longer/more of a pain it is to get up and running, the easier it is to put off practice until "later". Its one of the reasons I gave up on using Guitarport and my computer... just took way to long to get everything setup, or switch sounds & and jamtracks.

Also, how is the "session" feature? Does it work as well as advertised? Do you feel like you're actually able to create listenable music that's your own ideas with it?

Thanks!

Hi Slippin'
I'll try to keep in mind to to watch the time.
Time may not be relavent as my laptop is Walmart special and having problems. Keyboard keys on the right side are out. Thought program is mouse controlable. New keyboard is on it's way.
So what is slow may not be the programs fault.
Loading and activation were a pain due to above problem.
Game start up opens Uplay and Guitarsmith. During operation, any lessons that are track and opens a viual of turning tape deck that warns not to shut of during this is visable. it takes only a few second.
Sessions, musicaly, so far for me has only been successful when at the fifth fret and 17th fret with pentatonic scale.
Todays loading is having a problem. It maybe because I started program without the guitar plugged in. Then it locked up.. Just a guess.
Getting up and running today was approximatly 10 minutes. I would say generally under 2 minutes. I will still keep a I on the times
The session loads are preset and saved
preset list
Custon
Basic (drum kit and guitar)
(drums only)
(metronome)
{Barebone rock, drums and ! guitar)

The custom band stays where you last had it.
Root
Scale
Complexity
Tempo
Groove
Tempo Slew (what ever that is)
Room
Point and click method for me right now.
None take long to get up and running, just making decision what to try.

I agree. I have everything setup in a decidated area except for a PC. I plan to rectify that and I suspect I will do many more focused lessons here.

I have this on the xbox and it's very quick to get going, you literally load the game, plug in your guitar and away you go. I've not tried the session mode yet but heard fairly good things about it. The song list is pretty decent and I found myself playing guitar along with songs on the game for hours the other night without noticing the time so in my opinion anything that gets you playing your guitar more is a good thing.

Indubitably! :D

Hey fuzz,
Thanks for you input about use with Xbox.. Daughter is looking into Xbox or Game Station version for her kids.
I now have an issue with the lessons of sustain and slides. The demo part seems to be locked in a delay effect. Slow video, and choppy audio. The lesson plays fine. I can't seem to find a help menu in either Guitarsmith or Uplay. That's the story for today.

Can U pic all the engineers at Boss, Line 6, etc playing with the session feature and going "Damn, WE should have thought of this!"? This just made my DR-880 look like a dinosaur.

What system are you using the game through? have you got it linked via a HD cable to the monitor/screen?
