Funny to hear Kapa mentioned. That was my first electric guitar - black with a white pick guard. I got it used back in 1983. Later on I bought a Peavey Special used to plug it in.

I can remember polishing that guitar constantly - I was so happy to have my own electric guitar. It was a love/hate relationship though because of the teardrop shape...I couldn't play it sitting down. Its sound also paled in comparison to my friend's Les Paul deluxe with P90's. Everybody else had "cooler" gear, so I felt self concious about my unique guitar. My true desire was a Fender Strat with a maple fretboard.

Sadly my brother destroyed the Kapa guitar imitating Pete Townsend with it and smashing it after I moved out of the house. He knew I really didn't like the guitar and thought he'd have some fun :-(.

Now that I'm older and wiser, I wonder what that guitar would sound and feel like today. At the time I didn't mind him smashing it, but I wish it was still around today for the nostalgia.
