Maggior, I did not contradict Fuzzbox.

Fuzzbox said: "I have always turned a valve amp on in standby". This means that the amp is turned on, in other words, the amp has power, but is currently in "Standby" mode, which means it will not create any sound.

Fuzzbox then says: "then wait a min or two then full power on". In other words, take the amp out of "Standby" mode... some amps do this by pushing a button, flicking a switch, whatever... mine the switch says "Standby" or "Run".

Fuzzbox then says: "and then back onto standby before turning off. "

Correct.

Axe, if you're not sure, remember what I told you in my first post. Plug in your guitar, play it as you turn the amp on... if it has power, but there is no sound at all, even after a minute, then you push the Standby button and have sound, you did it right. On the other hand, if you turn it on and immediately hear your guitar, but its really quiet, then it gets progressively louder until it reaches full volume (whatever your volume knobs are set at, I know Maggior would be all over that one ;) ) then you turned it on improperly. Won't hurt the amp or tubes to do it just a few times that way, so experiment if you need to. You should only have to try it once to know which is the correct method.

Hope this helps & solves your problem!
