One day my hip muscles seemed to be wanting tighten and release on their own, so I asked my wife to bring me my acoustic. I laid the back of the guitar on my hip and played some songs in the key of E and G. Maybe my muscles would have stopped anyway, but after the sound waves moved through massaging the muscles for a bit, they quit cramping.
Just passing on the information as I found it interesting and who knows if it might help you at some point. If all you have is electric guitars, maybe a set of head phones placed on the knee would help. Just play soft healing music.
Welcome home, from your guitars.
