First day!

Actually, not. I did a 15 day trial. I just signed up for a year.

My name is Scott and I'm a beginner guitar student. I play cello (over 30 years experience) and hammered dulcimer (teaching myself over the past 2 years). I'm hoping to catch on quick considering my previous music background.

I am progressing nicely through the first fundamentals but am slowing down for the chords.

I look forward to learning and playing.

Welcome Scott! I think another cello player signed up recently too! Chords take time. Back when I was a full member, I went through Lisa McCormick's fingerpicking course. Its a great way to "double up" your practice, because you can learn the chord, then apply a simple fingerpicking pattern which really helps you hear if you're fretting the notes of the chords properly. I've recently incorporated some of her fingerstyle that she teaches on the acoustic into my electric lead guitar playing. Good stuff!
