Welcome to the site! I had been playing off and on for the past few years just trying to learn songs with no real idea why I was playing particular chords and had no real understanding of how guitar works. So I started with the core learning system and my passion for guitar grows with every lesson. Chris makes it real simple and you can work at your own pace as well as asking any questions through the forum and you'll get multiple answers. But like I said start with core learning level 1 and just progress through those lessons and you'll be making progress in no time...just stick with it and know that frustration is to be expected when starting just don't worry about it. Everyone goes through it.

Also there are some good lessons in the Art of Practice that give you some good pointers on how to stay motivated and good ways to keep practicing.
