Take a break. Seriously. Don't touch your guitar for a week. You might be trying too hard. Sometimes you have to take a break and let the things you've learned/trying to learn just sit and jell for a bit.

Thanks for the advice. I'm ok. I still really enjoy my practice actually. Just am finding out, for some of us this takes TIME. Sometimes it seems like a step forward, and a step and a half back. I actually am improving---just seems like a centimeter at a time. These darn guitars don't play themselves do they!! lol

Nope, they don't play themsleves :-).

One of the best things I've learned here is that it takes time for all of us - even the greats. Some have more natural talent then others, but it still took them hard work to learn and continued hard work to remain where they are.

And progress is progress...no matter how small it is!! Enjoy the journey.

Yep, I am in the process of realizing that the old Dire Straits' song Money for Nothin is a bunch of bull. Well, maybe not the line after that, he, heee

I understand the frustration, when I first started learning guitar I gave up a few times as I felt was getting no where but just stick with it and you will get better, you've probably improved more than you think. I also agree with RickBlacker sometimes a break is good for your learning so maybe have a few days off and then come back to practicing again.

Thanks again for the advice. I will remember whats said. I took it up after retirement, and lots of time on my hands, so its hard not to pick it up for at least a hour, but if I just hit a brick wall I'll try to give it a rest.
